Under Maryland law, there is a certain category of crimes that can be expunged from you record (even if it resulted in a conviction). That’s right, if you were found guiltyof any of these “nuisance” crimes, you still may be able to erase the convictions from public inspection. Just because a crime is “minor” or simply carries a fine only, it can still create a Maryland criminal record for you. Unfortunately, even a conviction for a minor Maryland crime will show up on a background check and may stop you from obtaining a security clearance, employment, and any number of other things.
