Paying the Price, Pt 1: Maryland DUI Fines

Maryland DUI and DWI convictions carry many penalties.  In addition to possible jail time and a license suspension, large fines may be imposed.  Here’s a list of the latest fines for a Maryland DUI and DWI caes.  In many instances, judges will allow the Defendant more time or allow that the fines be paid over the period of probaiton if the Defendant cannot afford the fine that was imposed.

 Possible fines for  DUI offenses in Maryland

 1st offense: Up to $1000. $2000 if transporting a minor.

2nd offense: Up to $2000. $3000 if transporting a minor.

3rd offense: Up to $3000. $4000 if transporting a minor.

 Possible fines for DWI offenses in Maryland

 1st offense: Up to $500. $1000 if transporting a minor.

2nd offense: Up to $500. $2000 if transporting a minor.

3rd offense: Up to $500. $2000 if transporting a minor.

These fines are not the only fees levied against DUI/DWI offenders in Maryland. Court costs, probation fees, and other fees could also apply to your case.
